Defence and Shashemenie City resume the long interupted league today in addis Ababa. On sunday the biggest derby match of the league between st. george and the leader coffee will be played.

Libya's victory tightened group ten !

Libya's win over Namibia in Tripoly tightened the group ethiopia is in. The previously winless libya scored a goal in each half to secure a 2-1 victory and move up to joint first place with DRCwith 4 points. Ethiopia now wiht a game in hand is bottom of the table with 3 point.

Defence players arrested in Botswana!!!!!

Botswana's security forces have arrested two of the three Ethiopian soccer players who went missing last weekend, SABC radio news reported on Sunday.They were arrested at the Swartkopfontein and the Romatswa border post while trying to cross into South Africa.The third player has fled.The players disappeared after their club, Defense FC, played against Botswana's Notwane in the CAF Confederations Cup last weekend.

Romario!! Does any body remebers that name?

Yes, a brazilian forward who helped his country win the famous 1994 world cup and scored some crucial goals on the way to the finals is still scoring goals in his country league at the age of 41. He played from brazil to europe in barcelona (and i think in asia too) and now back in brazil with a club called Vasco da Gama. He scored hatrick for the second consecutive games taking his tolal career goal to 995 ( thats according to his personal record, not official) in all games he played for his coutry, clubs all freindly matches etc. His target? to get to 1000 goal mark that pele had acheived many years ago.

African Under-17 Championship in Togo

The only east african represenative in this year's African Under-17 Championship in Togo, Eritrea, is crushed by big names ghana and Nigeria. Eritrea reached to this point by knocking out egypt and zambia winning three out of four aginst these two big football countries. However, in Togo things got serious and they were humilated by rain of goals. Two games played and they already conceeded 14 goals and knocked out of the competition one game left to play againstBurkina Faso who are also crushed out. This is humilating not only to eritrean fans but also to all other east africans who couldn't even go to the finals.

St George vs Etoile du Congo !

St George scored a goal by Nigerian striker Uchechukwu Chinyere on 62nd minute to win the first leg of the champions league over Etoile du Congo in Addis Ababa. This news source said that saint george missed lot of goal chances before settling on a single goal.
