Ethiopian Women Soccer National Team Plays Nigeria on Thursday!

Ghana’s Black Princesses beat hosts Algeria 2-1 at the Zerealda Stadium in the opening Group B match of the 9th All Africa Games on Monday evening. The West Africans, who are making their debut at the competition have three points and in pole position to advance to the next stage as they handed out the defending Arabian champion the slim margin defeat in front of their fans.
Represented by their U-19 squad, the Ghanaian side showed much promise throughout the full duration with their attackers occasionally drawing rings around the Algerian rear.
In Group A, African Champions Nigeria came from two goals down to settle for a 2-2 draw with rivals South Africa at the Bologhine stadium. The Super Falcons were down 0-2 in the first half after defender Onome Ebi had headed the ball into her own net to put the Banyana Banyana’s in front. Led by coach Jossy Lad, the Falcons came from the break a determined side and succeeded in canceling the lead through Ifeanyi Chiejine moments into the half before midfielder Tawa Ishola drew level later in the game.
The next round matches are scheduled for Thursday, July 12. Nigeria will play Ethiopia in Group A, while hosts Algeria seek to restore their pride against debutants, Senegal in Group B in Zerealda.(Source: CAF Online)
